All That Glitters is Gold

Sequin Vest, Gold Sequin Pump, Ellian Sequin Jewel Clasp Clutch, Kate Spade Gold Bangle, House of Harlow Arrow Bracelet, Michael Kors Gold Link Ring, Kate Spade Twirl Perfume, Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish, West Elm Gold Dot Pillow, Jonathan Adler Peacock Bowl.

The holidays are right around the corner, and I have always felt that gold was a staple for this time of year. There is just something glamorous about a sequin heel, tank, or even a little sparkle on your nails...reminds me of Old Hollywood Glam. Here are some of my favorites for this season, and all for less than $130...super budget friendly! Let me know what you think?

Weekend in Pictures

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, family and friends. I scored these really comfortable Sam Edelman boots...I'm in love! You can find them here.
I love this color from Mac. It is a blue brown pigment and I think it is going to produce an amazing date night look. Diva Darling has finally managed to move into her own "big girl" bed. She picked out the bedding herself and I love it too.
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone and now we're in full Christmas holiday mode. Why does it seem like Christmas comes faster as an adult than when you're a kid?
These are some supplies I picked up over the weekend for an upcoming DIY project...I'm excited about this one. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did go out for a couple of hours on Black Friday but not until after 5 am. Let's face it, after a day in the kitchen I was way to tired to brave the crowds or stand in long lines at midnight. I don't know, I feel so bad for the employees who had to work at 9 pm or midnight on a holiday. Did you brave Black Friday? What do you think about the stores opening on Thanksgiving and as early as midnight?

DIY-Nutmeg and Cinnamon Pumpkin Scrub

Give your skin a glow with this super easy DIY that's also budget friendly. Pumpkin is actually very good for the skin. It's loaded with antioxidants, enzymes and vitamins C and K. If used often it can strengthen skin structures and restore its softness and elasticity. When using it as a scrub it is super gentle, even for sensitive skin...and it smells super good!

Here is what you'll need:

4 tablespoons of canned pumpkin

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon of milk

2 tablespoons of white or brown sugar

Mix your dry ingredients first.
Then mix the pumpkin and milk togther. I had really good intentions to use a small pumpkin Diva Darling and I picked up at the market a couple of weeks ago, but when I went to cut it open it clearly was not good anymore.

Mix the dry ingredients with the canned pumpkin until well blended. If you are using fresh pumpkin puree, yours will look much lighter than this.

Voila, use in the shower and rinse with warm water. If you would like to make a pumpkin mask, omit the sugar. After I made my scrub I still had some pumpkin left so I made a mask too. Just apply it to the skin, rest for 10-15 minutes then rinse with warm water. Don't forget to apply moisturizer afterwards.

Put in a jar for storage. You can refrigerate any unused portions, and this will keep for several days. Feel free to experiment with the amount of each ingredient to get the desired consistency. I think next time I will add some raw sugar for a little more exfoliation. The smell of this was amazing, and it was hard not to want to lick my fingers! Let me know if you try this and what you think. This was super simple and a lot of the ingredients are probably already in your kitchen.

What's in My Purse

Purse Elle, Silk Coin Purse Anthropologie, Samsung phone, Steve Madden Wallet, New chain from my collection, Sunglasses Relic, Bath and Body hand sanitizer, Nivea lip balm, Ahava hand lotion, Tic Tacs, Band-Aid Blister Block, Cover Girl Lipstain, Notebook for writing down anything while on the go.

Our weekend was pretty much uneventful so in place of the weekend in pictures post, I am sharing with you what's in my purse. I usually carry a little bit more than what is pictured, but I didn't think anyone wanted to see my "Mommy must carry" essentials. Diva Darling and I spent a few hours in the park on Saturday and then came home and made a DIY pumpkin mask...DIY post to come later this week. How did you spend your weekend? Retail therapy? Family time? Enjoying the outdoors? Prepping for this weeks Thanksgiving Holiday?

Versace for H&M

I'm so excited about Versace for H&M that will be in store this Saturday....I'm sure it is going to be crazy! I love some of the pieces and would not wear some. Here are some of my favorites from this collection...I'll try and snag some of them this weekend. Are you planning on going to H&M for the collection by Versace?

Weekend in Pictures

Our weekend was pretty low key. We spent a lot of family time together and it was sooo nice since our weekends are usually chaotic. I purchased this snakeskin print dress at H&M a few weeks ago, and I just can't wait to wear it. It was a total steal at $14.95.
A few of my favorite fall color nail polishes. Left to right...Sand Tropez, Chinchilly, and Buy Me A Cameo all from Essie. I love this brand of nail polish...it wears like iron. My manicure and polish can last a whole week, and survives very well through lots of typing and daily dishes.

I purchased this multi-jeweled ring from Forever 21 on the same day as the snakeskin dress. I am just totally in love with jewel tones and this ring was a perfect addition to my statement ring collection.

This was a totally random purchase late Friday night. While at Ross, I found this cow print floor pillow. Normally, I don't go for cow patterns...ie dairy cow, but this had such a nice color and pattern and it's super soft. Hubby and I spent a couple of hours on the floor cuddled up with this pillow. Diva Darling has also laid claim to it.

Okay, so it's no secret that I am not very good with houseplants. I either love them too much, or let them die slowly if that is their wish. The label on this little succulent said that it was drought tolerant so I thought it was right up my alley. If anyone has any advice on how to "properly" care for these little guys, I am open for suggestions.

DIY- Tiffany Inspired Pumpkin Cookies

Following my Tiffany's inspired pumpkin, are some glamorous cookies. Diva Darling and I cooked these up the other day and gave them a pretty coat of Tiffany blue frosting. They tasted as good as they looked and only stayed around the house for about a day.

You can find the recipe here.

Make sure you soften butter before mixing with dry ingredients for easier blending. Just put in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. The recipe does not say to refrigerate the cookie dough before rolling it out, but I would highly recommend it, otherwise it is too sticky. You can refrigerate for 2-3 hours. I let mine refrigerate overnight. Bake and decorate. I used these icing bottles, you can find at Michaels. Outline first, then fill in.
This is what happens when hubby helps with the decorating. Perfect color right? These looked so pretty next to the pumpkin...I almost hated to eat them, but they were just to glamorous to pass up.

Fall in Black

So it's no secret that I am very pregnant, well 27 weeks at least. I am not a person who loves maternity fashion so I spend a great deal of time shopping for items that will work...and preferably not labeled maternity.

Boyfriend cardigan Forever 21, Black tank old, Mossimo Black Label Jegging, Black Jody Satchel, Lily Atlantic Necklace, Bracelets Lily Atlantic and Forever 21, Betsey Johnson Watch similar here.

This was taken on a gorgeous fall day. I almost couldn't believe that a week ago we had about 10 inches of snow in our backyard. I absolutely love black, and that goes for anything from shoes to headbands. I think I am going to be a little more daring this fall and try and work in some other colors into my wardrobe, I am also loving houndstooth too. What "out of your comfort zone" trends will you be trying this fall? Did you get a chance to enjoy the nice weather? I know it will be gone sooner than I would like.

Weekend in Pictures

This weekend for the most part was uneventful. My mother and I spent the end of the week at a new antique store in our area. It was approx. 4,000 sq ft with 3 floors....we were there for hours! We found a few items, some are pictured here this week. I scored this Jonathan Adler reed diffuser from HSN for $6! I don't plan on using it for a reed diffuser, but he has a nice home on my bookcase next to my favorite books.
I love a good book. This weekend hubby took me to the library to pick up some new reads. Not like a don't have a bookshelf full of books I have yet to read.
I found this glamorous bowl at TJ Maxx over the weekend for $3.99. It is perfect for holding my jewelry...I just have decide where I want to put it.
Did you pick up the new book, The Perfectly Imperfect Home by Deborah Needleman? I made a quick run through and it has phenomenal ideas...the only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of actual photos, it has drawings instead. Overall, a very good reference book.
I found these vintage earrings at an antique store this weekend. I love the glitter leaves and pearls...so elegant...so vintage glam....♥
At the same antique store I found these really cute sherbet glasses. I love the detail on the base. I love items that serve multiple purposes and these were perfect for displaying mini meringues. These managed to make it into the bowl before Diva Darling yummied them up. Hope you had an enjoyable weekend.

DIY- Tiffany's Inspired Pumpkin

Halloween has officially come and gone, so it was time to re purpose a pumpkin and make it something glamorous. I decided to create a Tiffany inspired pumpkin using a few things I had around the house. This is a really simple DIY project that anyone can tackle...I had help from Diva Darling.
Supplies:
Pumpkin- real or faux
Craft paint- you could use spray paint too
Paint Brush
Masking Tape
Hairspray
This is a real basic pumpkin that I Diva Darling and I picked up at the local farmers market...it is so small and cute and fits in the palm of your hand.Choose the color of your choice...one for the pumpkin and one for the stem. Any kind of masking tape and paint brush will work for this project. I also used a smaller paint brush for the stem. First start by taping off the stem, then begin to paint the pumpkin. I apologize for the somewhat messy paint job at this moment...Diva Darling was helping. After you have painted the body of the pumpkin, remove the tape on the stem and paint. Once you have finished painting your pumpkin (this may take a few layers to achieve desired color), then add a few coats of hairspray to give it a little sheen and luster. And this is what your end result should look like. Cute right? So here you go, a fabulous way to recreate a traditional fall pumpkin into something glamorous. If you want it to last longer I would suggest using a faux pumpkin....I'm a little sad that I'll have to throw this out once it goes bad. What will you be glamorizing this weekend? I would love to hear!

Snakeskin Love

One thing that I am totally in love with right now is snakeskin! Anything from shoes to accessories, snakeskin has caught my eye. Although, I admittedly do not own many items with a snakeskin print...it is definitely on my shopping list. I recently purchases a snakeskin dress from H&M for $14.95, killer deal in my opinion. I'll have to wait a couple of months until little man arrives to fully appreciate all of its beauty on me. Animals have been so blessed with beautiful color and texture. Do you currently own any snakeskin, and how are you planning to wear it this fall/winter?
