Weekend in Pictures

This is what we woke up to on Saturday morning. It almost looks like Christmas morning instead of a few days before Halloween. We ended up with a total of 10 inches!!! It is not expected to last more than a couple of days since the temperature will be in the 50's and 60's.
Aren't these just the cutest jammies ever?! These are little Diva Darlings winter wear.
I just thought this was the cutest way to package candy...in a little metal take out box. Of course, the candy was yummy too.

New ring....I'm loving rose gold as of late. Have you been wearing any rose gold?

We didn't go all out this year for Halloween, but Diva Darling and I went to the market on Friday and had to bring these little guys home.

Fall bouquet. Since the weather was questionable this weekend, we stayed home and made sugar cutout cookies and enjoyed watching the snow fall outside. How did you spend your weekend? Did you see snow or have gorgeous seasonal weather?

DIY- Fabric Covered Cork Board

Over the weekend I found some vintage inspired fabric at a local craft store and thought it would be perfect for a DIY project. This is an incredibly easy project to make yourself...and won't break the bank. The only hard part will be deciding what fabric you want to use!
Supplies:
Cork board
Primer
Spray Paint- any color
Spray Adhesive
Rotary cutting Mat
Ruler
Rotary Tool or Scissors
Newspaper
Tape
Fabric-I only used 1/2 yard, but it may vary depending on the size of your cork board
I picked this basic cork board up at a yard sale for $2.

Feel free to use any brand and color of your choice. You can use whatever cutting tool you prefer...I just found these easy for me.

First you will want to tape off the cork area.

In a well ventilated area, spray on a light coat of primer. The go over it with about 2 coats of paint, letting them have plenty of time to dry in between.

This is what you should have after you have finished painting, and removed the newspaper and tape.

Cut your fabric to size and spray adhesive on the cork and lay your fabric on top. You'll want to cut the fabric just a little larger than the cork so that it can be tucked under the frame. We used a knife to tuck the fabric underneath the frame...but you could use a putty knife too. If you want to, you could also add some trim around the edge to give it a little more detail.

Voila! You have a finished cork board that is not boring...but FABULOUS
Here is a close-up shot. I am using mine to hang all my jewelry on. Seems simple right? What kind of DIY projects do you have planned or have done? Share with me in the comments...I would love to see!

Fall Weekend

We spent the weekend trolling around our small area of the country. Our trees are in full fall color and it always amazes us how beautiful they are. We came across a wonderful old colonial home while seeking out vintage treasures, and I found a beautiful vintage cocktail glass set at a local thrift store. At the craft store I purchased fabric with a vintage pattern for an upcoming DIY. I was able to sneak some time in to create a few new pieces of jewelry that are very reminiscent of old Hollywood glam. What do you do to enjoy the fall weather?

♥'ing Black

It's that time of the year that I get to dig out my favorite color...black! From booties to beanies, I'll be wearing them all. Fall and winter are my favorite time of the year for clothing, but not weather.

Color Crush ♥

Zoya Polish in Marina found here and at Ulta.

Recently, I decided to give a color I normally don't wear on my fingertips a try. This polish is from Zoya and is in the color Marina. It is a gray somewhat blueish tint color. So far I am happy with the quality of the polish. I've been wearing it for about 3 days and so far no chips. It costs about $8 a bottle.

Latest Jewelry Project

Azura Ring found here on my etsy shop.

This is what I have been working on lately. I love the color and it reminds me of the ocean and the movement of the waves. I'm looking forward to trying this style with other colors and shapes.

Birthday Morning

Well today marks another year gone by, and another year older. It's sad how fast birthdays come after the age of 21. My diva darling blessed her mother with the gift of early rising and a cuddle in bed before breakfast. While I sit and listen to her happy baby sounds, I am armed with this mornings read and a pregnancy friendly drink.
